Stanislaw Oldziej, 80, of Hartford, loving husband of 55 years to Danuta (Backiel) Oldziej, peacefully passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Stanislaw was born September 2, 1935 and raised in Poland son of the late Mieczyslaw and Leonia (Oldziej) Oldziej. He and Danuta started their family together in Poland, then immigrated to America March 31, 1982, where they settled in Hartford and have lived since that time. Prior to his retirement in 2000, Stanislaw was employed as a Machinist at the James L. Howard Co in Bloomfield for 16 years. He was a devoted and faithful communicant of SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. Along with his wife Danuta, Stanislaw will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his loving family; five children, Irena Mojsa and her husband Ryszard, of Newington, Miroslaw Oldziej and his wife Renata, of Florida, Marzena Oldziej of Hartford, Robert Oldziej and his wife Breanne, of New Britain, and Ewelina Oldziej of Hartford; two sisters, Marianna Malinowski and her husband Henryk, of Florida and Teresa Zendzian in Poland; seven adored grandchildren, Christopher, Justine, Kelly, Lauren, Sarah, Christian and Lidia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends both here and in Poland. In addition to his parents, Stanislaw was predeceased by his brother Mieczyslaw Oldziej and a grandson, Brandon Gerard Chamberland. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the Oldziej family Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. Funeral procession will form at Farley-Sullivan at 10:15am Thursday, April 28th and then will proceed to SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluzsko Court, Hartford for an 11:30am Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Stanislaw’s life. Interment will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Sacred Heart Section, 1 Cottage Grove Rd. Bloomfield. To extend online condolences and/or share a memory, please visit farleysullivan.com.
