Jean Joseph (Ford)
Jean (Ford) Joseph, 77, resident of Wethersfield, , passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Jean was born December 22, 1938 and raised in Hartford, one of three daughters of the late Clinton A. and Hazel J. (Bunnell) Ford. Jean earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Hood College and a Master’s Degree from Gallaudet University. She was employed for many years at the American School for the Deaf and was one of the school’s Principals. Jean enjoyed life and was quite active. She was involved in such activities as knitting, book club, volunteering at Foodshare, community work at Trinity Episcopal Church; along with being a fixture at many local restaurants. She was an avid supporter of UCONN Women’s Basketball and loved to travel, especially to Cape Cod. Her greatest joy was her family. Jean will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her two sons, William Joseph and his wife Ellen Elder-Joseph, of Massillon, OH, Andrew Joseph of Wethersfield; daughter, Susan Reese and her husband William, of Cobalt; sister, Marilyn Ford of Wethersfield; as well as her six cherished grandchildren, Iain Joseph, Katherine Joseph, James Joseph, Miriam Joseph, Nicole Evans and Rachel Reese. Along with her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husband, Royal W. Joseph III; a son, Christopher Joseph and a sister Miriam Ford.
