Maureen  Plourde (Claffey)
Maureen (Claffey) Plourde, 74, of West Hartford, passed away Saturday (March 5, 2016) at home with family by her side. She was born September 17, 1941 in Hartford, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Grace) Claffey. She was educated in the Hartford public school system, graduating from Hartford Public High School Class of 1959. Maureen was employed by the Farmington Valley Visiting Nurse Association in Connecticut and worked as a private Home Health Aide in Orange County, California. During her retirement, Maureen very much enjoyed volunteering at the Elmwood Senior Center. Maureen was a parishioner of The Church of Saint Timothy in West Hartford. As a devote Catholic, she became a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She found her happiness in helping those in need. She will be missed dearly by all. Maureen is survived by her daughter Mary Plourde and her husband Peter Tripp of Vermont; her daughter Cheryl Plourde of Unionville; her daughter Corrine Dunbar and her husband Jeff of Canton; her granddaughter Alicia Dunbar of Canton; her sister Patricia Kulpa and her husband Robert of Cromwell; her brother William Claffey and his wife Chris of Rocky Hill; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Christian Mass will be held on Thursday March 10, 2016 at 10 a.m. in The Church of Saint Timothy, 225 King Phillip Drive, West Hartford, CT. Calling hours will be Wednesday March 9, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, CT.
