Obituary for Evelyn B. Quinn (Belliveau)

Evelyn (Belliveau) Quinn, 99, of Waterbury, former longtime Wethersfield resident, peacefully passed away Monday, April 20, 2015 in St. Mary’s Hospital Vitas Unit. She was the loving wife of 40 years to the late John J. “Jack” Quinn, who predeceased Evelyn in 1981. Evelyn was born in Hartford, December 5, 1915. She was raised in East Hartford, a daughter of the late Albert and Ida (Baxter) Belliveau. Evelyn and Jack were married in 1941 at which time they became residents of Wethersfield, where they also owned and operated the Industrial Welding Company for many years. She was a devoted communicant of the Church of the Incarnation as well as a member of its Women’s’ Club. Evelyn will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her loving family; her daughter Patricia Barnes of the Oakville section of Watertown; her sister Virginia F. Belliveau of Waterbury (with whom Evelyn resided); two adored grandsons, John Bradford “Brad” Barnes of Brooklyn, NY, James Stoddard “Todd” Barnes and his wife Kim, of Stamford; and two cherished great grandsons, August Brian Barnes and Maverick Paul Barnes (who was just born). In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was predeceased by her son-in-law Brian A. Barnes. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family, Monday, April 27, 2015 from to 9:30-10:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Evelyn’s life at 11am in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield. Interment next to her husband Jack will follow the Mass in Rose Hill Memorial Park (section 6), 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. The family requests that donations in Evelyn’s name be considered to Holy Cross High School, 587 Oronoke Rd., Waterbury, CT 06708.
