Alfonso Negron, husband of Naty Negron of Newington, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer Saturday January 29, 2011. He was born in Puerto Rico, son of the late Ramon Negron and Justina Ortiz and lived in the Hartford area most of his life. Alfonso was employed by CL&P as a Meter Service Technician and was an avid golfer. Alfonso was also a member of Sacred Heart Church in Hartford. Besides his wife of 37 years, he leaves three daughters, Cristina Negron Mitusina and her husband Joseph Mitusina, Sandra Negron and Rebecca Negron all of Newington. Alfonso also leaves 12 siblings: Manuel, Angel, Lydia, Rafael, Fermin, Maria, Felicita (Rodriguez), Ana Marta, Jose, Juan, Iris and Gerardo Negron, 2 grandchildren Marlon and Natalie and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 3, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Sacred Heart Church 15 Ely St. (corner of Winthrop St.) Hartford. Attendees are asked to go directly to Church. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, (Section 35), 453 Fairfield Ave. Hartford. His family will receive relatives and friends may at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield, Wednesday February 2, from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Negron family.
