Irene (Solosky) Soltys, 86, of Hartford beloved wife of the late Andrew M. Soltys, entered into eternal rest Friday, May 23, 2008 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Newington, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Solosky. She was a graduate of Newington High School. After marrying her husband Andrew in 1948, she lived in Hartford for the remainder of her life. Irene worked for the City of Hartford at the Burr School for over 20 years prior to her retirement and was a member of the Polish American Club on John Street, Hartford for many years.
Joining in her loss is Irene’s son; Drew Soltys and his wife Faye of Newington, her granddaughter and grandson Jessica Soltys, and Graham Soltys, her brother Joseph and his wife Anita Solosky all of Newington, and her sister Jeannette Koczera of Middletown. Irene was predeceased by her sisters; Emily, Helen, Mary, Caroline, Doris, Patricia, Natalie, Lorraine, and Phyllis and a brother, Edward. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 1:00pm in the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield. Interment will follow in Northwood Cemetery, Bina Avenue, Hartford. Irene’s family will receive friends and relatives in the Funeral Home Wednesday May 28, 1 hour prior to the service from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
