Steven Douglas Tyskwicz, 60, lifelong Hartford resident, beloved son, brother, and godson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at UCONN Medical Center. Born, March 13, 1952, and raised in Hartford, he was the son of Helen (Szubinski) Tyskwicz and the late Benjamin Tyskwicz. Steven was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, continuing his education at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Prior to his retirement he was employed for over 26 years at the Treasure Chest Advertising Company. Steven not only had a fondness for the arts, he enjoyed being a connoisseur of fine coffee and being mistaken for action star Chuck Norris. Along with his mother, Steven will be fondly remembered by his family, his brother, William W. Tyskwicz of Hartford; his sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Andre Laferriere of Avon and Old Saybrook; aunt and godmother, Shirley Szubinski of Hartford; as well as many cousins and dear friends. Friends and relatives may pay their respects Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 3-5pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, at which time a service will be held at 5pm in the funeral home. Burial in the family plot will be private and at the convenience of the family.
