Elmer Valeggia, 90, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Mary (Falcetti) Valeggia, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 16, at Hartford Hospital. Born, September 7, 1921 and raised in Berlin, Elmer was the son of the late Louis and Aurelia (Raviza) Valeggia. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II. Elmer was the owner, operator of Cambridge Specialty of Berlin for many years. He was a long time member of UNICO National, Newington Chapter. Along with his wife, Elmer will be fondly remembered by his family; his daughter Carol Marino and her husband Kenneth, of Saybrook; granddaughter, Kellie Kessel and her husband Robin, of California; three great grandchildren, Kira, Kaden, and Kai, all of California, and his nephew, Donald Valeggia and his wife Joyce, of Farmington. In addition to his parents, Elmer was predeceased by his brother Enzo Valeggia. Friends and relatives may pay their respects to the family Friday morning, April 20, from 8:30am-9:30am at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Elmer’s life will be held, at 10am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield.
