Joseph Ferrante, 82, resident of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Rita (Nadeau) Ferrante, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 02, 2012 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born December 29, 1929, in Hartford, son of the late Louis and Lucy (Tolesino) Ferrante. He was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1948. Joseph served our country in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal, and three Bronze Stars. After getting married, Joseph and Rita started their life together in East Hartford, prior to moving to Glastonbury in 1962. He was a member of St. Paul Church, Glastonbury. Joseph was employed by Wiremold of West Hartford as a Tool & Die Maker for 38 years, prior to his retirement in 1992. Along with his wife Rita, Joseph will be fondly remembered by his loving family; three sons, two daughters, and their spouses, Louise and David Mazzoli of Glastonbury, Joseph and Susan Ferrante of Glastonbury, Anthony Ferrante of Glastonbury, Vincent and Louise Ferrante of South Windsor, Lisa and Bob Oliver of Suffield; six grandchildren, Bryan, Christopher, Justin, Alana, Emily, and Juliano; three great grandchildren, Gianna, Makayla, and Mya. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his two brothers, Christopher and Leonard Ferrante, and his sister, Rose Cecchini. The Ferrante Family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff of Manchester Memorial Hospital, Hospice Unit, and the VNA Hospice for a superb job in caring for Joseph. Joseph’s family will receive relatives and friends Today, February 3rd from 5-8pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave., Glastonbury. Funeral procession from Farley-Sullivan will be Saturday, February 4th at 9am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating Joseph’s life, at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Interment will follow with full military honors in the Veteran’s Section of Neipsic Cemetery, Neipsic Rd., Glastonbury.
