Julian Dal Ponte, 90, of Wethersfield, beloved husband to the late Felicia (Mascolo) Dal Ponte, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Apple Rehab Meriden. Born in Hartford on September 17, 1921, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anita Dal Ponte, he resided in the Hartford area all of his life. He served our country during World War II in the US Army Air Corp. Prior to his retirement Julian was a self employed master carpenter for many years. Julian will be remembered by his two daughters and sons in law, Elizabeth “Liz” and Stephen Smith of Cheshire, Susan and Gary Ford of Sanford, ME.; four grandchildren, Matthew and Justin Smith, Jason and Katina Ford; a sister in law, Lucille Dal Ponte; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Julian was predeceased by his brother, John Dal Ponte. Relatives and friends may call on the family, Monday January 16, 2012, at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield from 10 to 11am, at which time a funeral service will be held at 11am. Interment will follow with full military honors in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Section H, 1 Cottage Grove Rd., Bloomfield. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made in Julian’s name to the Franciscan Hospice Care of Meriden, 267 Finch Ave., Meriden, CT 06451.
