Roger A. Brisson, 81, of Wethersfield, beloved husband of Doris (Bilodeau) Brisson, passed away peacefully, Friday, November 04, 2011 at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. Roger was born July 30, 1930 in Fall River, MA, son of the late Joseph and Grace (Lavoie) Brisson, he resided in the Hartford area most of his life. Roger served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was a longtime member of St. Augustine Church, Hartford, as well as being a devoted volunteer for the church’s food pantry. Roger was a Law Enforcement Officer for the Hartford Police Department, serving on its Motorcycle Unit, then went on to work for the United States Postal Service . Along with his wife, Doris, Roger will be fondly remembered by his loving family; two daughters and a son in law, Susan & Jim McCormick of West Hartford, Tricia Orletski in Florida; a son Roger J. Brisson of Stonington; a stepdaughter Gloria Veitch and her husband Bob, of Old Saybrook; two stepsons, James Rickis of Old Saybrook, Leo Rickis of Rockville; 21 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; as well as, three sisters and a brother in law , Grace Burbine in New Hampshire, Rita Ivester, Diane & Bob Knueven all in Ohio; seven nieces, two of which are his goddaughters, Paula & Cindy; and four nephews. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Darlene Cormier; and a sister Vivian Joseph, and his former wife, Mary Martin. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, November 8th from 4 to7pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. Funeral Procession from the funeral home will be Wednesday, November 9th at 8:45am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Roger’s life at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford.
