Timothy Patrick Guthrie, 61, of the Kensington section of Berlin, husband of his best friend and wife, Janet (Healy) Guthrie, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, Tuesday, September 6, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Born in Hartford, April 4, 1950, son of the late James M. Guthrie and Mary (Clancy) Guthrie, he resided in the Hartford area all his life. He attended East Hartford schools, graduating from East Hartford High, Class of 1968. Tim served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After serving, Tim attended Manchester Community College, attaining an Associate’s Degree. He was employed by the State of Connecticut, Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services at CVH, Middletown. Tim will forever be remembered for his kind, loving heart and wonderful sense of humor. Along with his wife Janet, Tim, will be fondly remembered by his sister and brother in law, Elizabeth “Bette-Anne” (Guthrie) & Edward Armstrong, of Old Saybrook; niece, Meghan E. Armstrong in Barcelona, Spain; sister in law, Nancy Healy, her daughter Jennifer Healy; a cherished grandniece, Taylor; his loving cats; along with being a friend of Bill’s for over 35 years. Tim’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd., Wethersfield, Saturday, September 10, from 10:30-11:30am. A memorial service celebrating Tim’s life will follow in the funeral home at 11:30am. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations are made in Tim’s name to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.
