Marjorie (Kissinger) Gentino, 81, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of Edward J. Gentino Jr., passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Born April 23, 1930 and raised in Atlantic City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaretha (Langer) Kissinger. Marjorie graduated from the Philadelphia General Hospital, Class of 1950 with a Nursing Degree. During this time she met her husband to be, Edward. Marjorie was a Registered Nurse, employed as a Night Supervisor at the Institute of Living in Hartford. She was an active member of the Wethersfield-Rocky Hill Nurses Association, and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Wethersfield. Marjorie and Edward traveled the world, sailing on 97 cruises, visiting all seven continents. On the cruises she would assist Ed in teaching the game of Bridge to the passengers. Marjorie selflessly gave of herself to her four sons and five grandchildren, and loved them all dearly. Along with her husband Edward, she will be fondly remembered by her loving family, four sons and three daughters-in-law, William E. and Laurie Gentino, Edward J. Gentino III all of Wethersfield, Robert E. and Tina Gentino of Los Angeles, CA, Steven E. and Sharon Gentino of Wethersfield; her five cherished grandchildren, Eric, Stacey, Jonathan, Bryce, and Max. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, August 30 from 4-8 p.m. at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd. Wethersfield. Funeral services celebrating Marjorie's life will be held Wednesday, August 31 at 10 a.m. in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 371 Wolcott Hill Rd., Wethersfield, with Reverend Hugh R.B. Haffenreffer officiating, all attending are asked to go directly to church. Interment will be follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park (section 20), 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. In lieu of flowers, the Gentino family asks that memorial donations may be made in Marjorie's name to the Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Graduate Nurses Association, 18 Tabshey Ct, Wethersfield, CT 06109 or to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 371 Wolcott Hill Rd., Wethersfield, CT 06109.
