Frances “Honey” Josephine (Lombardo) Saccente, 83, of Wethersfield, beloved wife of John Saccente, passed away peacefully, at home, Friday, April 08, 2011, with her family by her side. Born, March 1, 1928, and raised in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Santo and Josephine (Bordonaro) Lombardo. She resided in Hartford and Wethersfield all her life. Prior to her retirement, Frances was employed by Phoenix Insurance Co. for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Luke’s Church, Hartford. Along with her husband John, Honey will be fondly remembered by her loving family; two sons, John P. Saccente and his wife, Paula, of New Britain, Michael J. Saccente and his fiancé, Rachael Butterworth, in New Zealand; two sisters, Nelly Boisvert of Andover, and Connie Boisvert of South Windsor; six adoring grandchildren, Jason Saccente and his wife Jeanette, of Bolton, Trevor Saccente and his wife Danielle of Bronxville, NY, Deena Saccente of New Britain, Jack W., Maya F., and Eden J. Saccente all in New Zealand; two wonderful great grandchildren, Liya H. and Edward J. Saccente; in addition to many nieces, nephews, and close, dear friends. In addition to her parents, Honey was predeceased by her two brothers, Vincent and Paul Lombardo. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Frances’ life will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 10:00am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Highway, Wethersfield (all attendees are asked to go directly to the church). Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery (Section 28), 453 Fairfield Ave. Hartford. There are no calling hours. The Saccente family requests in lieu of flowers, and that memorial donations may be made in Frances’ name to Vitas Hospice Charitable Fund, 628 Hebron Ave., Bldg #2, Suite 300, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
