Allan Bell, husband of the late Maria (DiPaola) Bell of Hartford, died December 17, 2010 in Hartford Hospital. He was born in Northfield , VT son of the late Myron and Glenora (Steele) Bell. Prior to his retirement, Allan was employed by the US Postal Service as the Supervisor of Finance in Hartford. He was a communicant of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Chairman of the Holy Name Society, member of the Knights of Columbus in Newington, coach in the McGinley Little League, active in the Scouts and generally involved in his children’s activities. Allan served in Europe during WW II with the Army Air Corp. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends he made at Mohegan Sun Casino. He is survived by 3 sons, David Bell and wife Susan, Craig Bell and wife Sharon all of Manchester, Brian Bell of Colorado Springs, CO. and a daughter Donna (Bell) Noiva and husband Larry of Tolland. He is also survived by 3 sisters in law, Kathleen (DiPaola) Bachand of Newberg, NY, Joyce (DiPaola) Perkins of Ft. Lauderdale , FL, Anna (DiPaola) Polansky of East Hartford , and a brother in law Anthony DiPaola of Wethersfield . He also leaves 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Stacey, Tina, Brenda, Dawn, Brandon, Gregory, Steven, and Andrew. Allan was pre-deceased by 4 brothers, Everett, Irvin, Roger and Randall. Funeral procession from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd Wethersfield will be held Wednesday December 22, 2010 at 9:45am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 in St. Lawrence O’Toole Church 494 New Britain Ave, Hartford. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery,(Section 31), 433 Fairfield Avenue, Hartford. Family and friends may call at the Funeral Home 1 hour before the funeral mass from 8:45-9:45am Wednesday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. |
