Fred W. Ward Sr., 89, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of the late Louise (Davis) Ward, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Fred was born February 5, 1921 in Portland, ME, son of the late John L. and Ammie (Davis) Ward, resided in Maine, until moving to Glastonbury 30 years ago. Fred was a Veteran of World War II, serving his country in the US Navy. He graduated from Maine Vocational Institute as an electrician, working for Finest Supermarkets for many years. Fred will be fondly remembered by his two sons, Douglas C. Ward of Glastonbury, and Fred W. Ward Jr. of South Lake Tahoe, CA; along with two grandchildren. Funeral services will be private, at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
