Robert Mazzucchi, of East Hartford, passed away to be with cherished loved ones, Tuesday June 22, 2010. He was born April 22, 1923 in Hartford, son of the late Ralph & Mary (D’Agostino) Mazzucchi. Robert was a veteran of the US Army, serving in Europe in WWII. While working for the US Post Office in Hartford, he always loved telling his stories of then, unknown people, now famous names. In later years, he worked as a volunteer senior advocate in the Attorney General’s office, assisting seniors with issues when they had no where else to turn. His rough exterior hid his greatest treasure.. a heart of gold. Robert always did his best to help family and friends. Many knew Robert in different ways, but knew they could count on him when the chips were down. He was up to date and well versed on political happenings and an avid sports fan. UCONN women’s basketball team will have an angel looking after them. Robert has gone on to be with his wife Catherine and daughter Eileen. He is survived by his son, Timothy, grandchildren, Todd, Justin, and Lauren, as well as a host of family and friends. Funeral procession from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Ave. Glastonbury will be Friday June 25, 2010 at 10:30am, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Robert’s life at 11:30 a.m. in St Rose Church, 33 Church St., East Hartford. Interment will follow at Silver Lane Cemetery, Veteran’s Section, East Hartford. Robert’s family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home TODAY, Thursday June 24 from 5-8 p.m. To extend online expressions of sympathy, or for further information, please visit farleysullivan.com.
