Mahoney, William J. Born in Hartford, March 4, 1920, he was the son of the late William and Ellen (Burke) Mahoney. Bill was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, Class of 1938 after which became the owner/operator of Mahoney’s Texaco Station on the Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield, retiring to Giants Neck Beach, Niantic after many years of providing service to the community. William enjoyed boating at the shore in Niantic, and found joy building model airplanes, and boats. An avid reader he could relax with a good book and one of his “stogies”. Most of all he enjoyed the company and time spent with his family. William will be fondly remembered by his loving children and their spouses; Mary Sapere and her husband Emil of Glastonbury, William J. Mahoney III and his wife Linda of Delaware, Michael Mahoney and his wife, Pamela of West Hartford, Peter Mahoney and his wife Patricia of East Hampton, and Timothy Mahoney and his partner, Lee-Ann Berger of Cromwell, his grandchildren; Kristina Kearney and her husband Michael, Emil Sapere III and his wife Tracy, Katie Mahoney O’Donoghue and her husband James, William Joseph Mahoney IV and his wife Tina, Erin Mahoney, Colleen Mahoney, Meghan Mahoney, Michael Mahoney, Sean Mahoney and Kayla Mahoney as well as his eleven great grand children, Brianna Kearney, Colby, Chase and Ava Sapere, Hunter Kremen, Jake, Rowan and Daly O’Donoghue, William Mahoney V, Ryan Mahoney and Matthew Mahoney.
