William J. Warren, 58, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Deborah (Giertz) Warren, passed away peacefully Saturday March 20, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. Bill was born in Hartford on June 15, 1951, son of the late Emerson George Warren and Glenna (Tibbetts) Warren. He resided in the Hartford area all of his life. He was a graduate of A.I. Prince Technical High School, Class of 1970, after which he began a lengthy career with the City of Hartford; from 1970-1980, Bill was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in the Public Works Department, then in 1980 he joined the Hartford Fire Department, becoming a Pump Operator currently with Engine Co. 8. until his passing. Bill would have completed 40 years of service with the City of Hartford on his next birthday. Billy was proud of being a Firefighter, was knowledgeable, multitalented and calm in an emergency. He was witty, irreverent, and delighted in making people laugh. He was a fun-loving optimist, proud of his home and loved watching the antics of his dog “Blondie”. He was looking forward to finishing the projects on his house so he could concentrate on restoring his 1969 Plymouth Valiant, spending time fishing at his second home in Maine and working in his new partnership, Food Equipment Specialists. Along with Deborah, Bill will be fondly remembered by his loving family; his son, William J. Warren Jr. of Phoenix, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey (Warren) and Nicholas Uccello and their children, Benjamin and Sydney. He also leaves his first wife, Sharon Bysko Phillips and her husband Daniel of Farmington. In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his half brother, George Warren. Bill’s family will receive relatives and friends at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield, Wednesday March 24, 2010 from 10:00am to 12:00noon, at which time a memorial service will be held celebrating William’s life. |
