Robert J. Grabarek, 84 of Hartford, past away peacefully Friday March 12, 2010 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, after a long battle with Cancer. He was born May 16, 1925 in Glastonbury, son of the late John and Sally (Krawiec) Grabarek, he resided in Glastonbury for a couple of years prior to moving to Hartford in 1927. Robert was an Air Force veteran of WWII, having served with the 8th Air Force in England as an Aerial Gunner on a B-17 Bomber. He went to trade school, earning a Master Electrician License, working around the State as a Self Employed Master Electrician. He loved fishing and hunting, and was a past member of the East Glastonbury Fishing and Game Club. Robert will be remembered by his brother William Grabarek of Marlborough, as well as extended family and friends. Roberts’s family will receive relatives and friends in the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury, 06033 from 5-7pm, with a memorial service at 7pm in the Funeral Home. Interment will be private and at the family’s convenience. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to the American Caner Society, 538 Preston Avenue, P.O. Box 1004, Meriden, CT 06450-1004.
