Stefania Madrak, 90, of Hartford, the beloved wife of the late Leopold Madrak entered into the Lord’s embrace Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Born in East Hampton, Massachusetts to the late Alexander and Anna (Chorazy) Dabrowski she emigrated to Poland at the age of three, returning to the U.S.A and ultimately to Hartford in 1963. Stefania was member of S.S. Cyril & Methodius Church and it’s Rosary Society as well as the St. Francis Society. She worked for thirty years at the Travelers Insurance Co. She was the beloved mother of her two daughters, Zofia Konopka and her husband, Stanislaw of Hartford, and Halina Prusaczyk and her husband, Bronislaw “Bruno” all of Hartford, as well as her sister, Honorata Jankowska of Poland. Stefania was blessed with nine loving grandchildren; Stephanie Madrak, Miroslaw and Boguslaw Konopka, Ewa Konopka, Krystyna Gallogly and her husband Nick, Barbara Rudini and her husband, David, Anna Prusaczyk, Krys Prusaczyk and his wife, Kasey, Dorota Mehta and her husband, Ariz, as well as nine great grand-children and her favorite goddaughter, Stephanie Kwasnicki in addition to many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her son, Jessy Madrak as well as her brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009 at 9am from the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Rd, Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in SS Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Ct, Hartford. Interment will follow at Mount. St. Benedict Cemetery, (Section Y), 1 Cottage Grove Rd, Bloomfield. Friends and relatives may call on the family Friday, June 26, from 5 to 8pm at the Funeral Home.
